What is a Modern Woodmen of America Youth Service Club (Kids Club)?
Clubs hold monthly activities and and plan volunteer projects that benefit the community. In a safe and positive environment, led by Modern Woodmen members, participating kids undertake countless educational, service and beautification projects for the betterment of their communities. And they have a lot of fun along the way.

Kids Club September Activities
In September, the Kids Club collected and distributed school supplies and food and paper products for the Lost Nation Food Pantry. The Club will meet again at the library on Saturday, October 1, at 9:30 a.m.

Youth Service Club Donates Funds

Sharon Steiner, leader of the Modern Woodman Youth Services Junior Club, presented a check to Janene Shannon, director of the Library. The donation was the result of two projects--proceeds from the Rustic Days Duck Races and proceeds from redeeming Iowa cans--combined with matching funds from Modern Woodman of America through the Junior Youth Service Club.

As a fraternal benefit society, Modern Woodman provides benefits for members, their families and their communities.

Below are some of the activities that the Modern Woodmen Youth Service Clubs of Lost Nation, Iowa participate in.

Join Hands Day

On Saturday, May 1, 2010, the Youth Service Clubs (Kids Clubs) joined hands with the Lost Nation American Legion Auxiliary Unit #381. They decorated bags and filled them with comfort items for our veterans in the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. The group filled 34 bags that they had decorated with bright stickers.

Join Hands Day is a national day of service when youths and adults work together on projects to improve our communities. Modern Woodmen of America is a sponsor of Join Hands Day.

When the youth finished decorating and filling the bags for the Veterans Home, they decorated a plastic container with stickers and planted a geranium in it to take home to their Moms for Mother's Day.

Below are some pictures of past activities that the Lost Nation Kids Clubs
have been involved in.
