Lost Nation Cemetery Lot Regulations

#1: Use of Lost Nation Cemetery lots shall be determined by the owner of the lot as set forth in the regulations of the Lost Nation Cemetery Association. "Such representation and power shall be vested only in the spouse, parent or child of such deceased lot owner unless said lot has been otherwise legally transferred."1

#2: "Any member may withdraw from this corporation by selling and conveying his or her cemetery lot which he or she may own, provided that no such sale may be made without the consent of the directors of said association, in the manner as hereinafter provided." 2

#3: Cemetery lots are 4'x8' with one burial vault per lot. A cremation vault may be placed in a lot with a burial or cremation vault, cost to be an additional 1/2 of present lot cost. Internments of cremations will be allowed if someone who is professional in burials opens and closes the grave. Cremation urns are considered vaults.3

One stone per lot is permitted, it may have two names on it. One lot may have two cremation vaults. "All burials must have a cement vault."4

#4: Individuals who own cemetery lots may sell those lots to others with the approval of the LNCA directors. Seller and buyer must notify the Cemetery Association secretary of any transfer sale. LNCA does not buy back cemetery lots.

#5: Only one stone may be placed on each lot. Care and maintenance of the stones is the responsibility of the family of the deceased.

#6: "Perpetual Care Certificates do not include the care, maintenance, or erection of any monument, marker or memorial to the dead or the digging of graves."5

#7: "Live plants around grave sites are only allowed on hanging devices such as shepherd hooks. No live plants are allowed on the ground in pots or planted in the ground around grave stones."6

#8: "Removal of damaged, dislodged, or faded artificial grave decorations and neglected or dead plants at grave sites are the responsibility of family caretakers. Cemetery personnel will remove these items when found."5

Deadlines for removal are April 1 and October 1.
