Amy (Till) Eganhouse recently opened a machine quilting business, Field of Seams, in Lost Nation. Amy started quilting 19 years ago when living in Minnesota. Since that time she has made more than 50 quilts. Amy also makes table runners, wall hangings, and can machine baste for hand quilters.
Customers provide the material for the backing and quilt top. Flannel or cotton backing material is chosen to compliment the colors and design on the front. Amy uses cotton batting because it breathes and holds the warmth.
Amy purchased a longarm quilting machine last year and enjoys the art of longarm machine quilting. Amy, a registered nurse, also works weekends at Mercy Oncology and is on call for the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa. She is a member of the Town and Country Quilt Guild in Maquoketa.
